University President, Dr. Soraya M. Coley
University President Soraya M. Coley became Cal Poly Pomona president on January 1st and is the first woman to serve in that role. Prior to this appointment, Dr. Coley served for 10 years as provost and vice president for Academic Affairs at Cal State Bakersfield. She also has held administrative and faculty positions at other institutions, including an 18-year tenure at Cal State Fullerton.
President Coley earned a bachelor's degree in sociology from Lincoln University in Pennsylvania. She went on to attain a master's degree in social planning and social research from Bryn Mawr, and later a Ph.D. in social planning and policy from Bryn Mawr.
