Grant Opportunities

Special Projects for Improving the Classroom Experience Program (SPICE)

Funded by the Student Success Fee, there are two types of SPICE grants available:

  • Classroom & Lab Equipment Grants: Funds are available to significantly update classroom equipment and to modernize specialized equipment used in laboratories and classrooms.
  • Instructional Innovation Grants: Funds are available to develop or implement innovative approaches to instruction.

To see examples of successful proposals from previous years, please see SPICE 2016. Watch for email announcements of this program.

Research, Scholarship, & Creative Activities Grants

The RSCA grants are small grants (up to $5000) to support research, scholarship, and creative activities. The grants are funded by the President’s Office and administered by the Office of Research, Innovation, & Economic Development. Proposals are reviewed by the Council for Graduate and Faculty Scholarship (Research Council), an elected committee consisting of a representative from each College. Faculty Mini-Grants (doc)

In most year, the Faculty Center is able to offer mini-grants ($1000 or less), funded by Academic Affairs for support of faculty activities that address the teacher-scholar model. The mini-grant award is intended to encourage activities relating to:
