Support the Renaissance Scholars Program

Renaissance Scholars who graduated in 2012

Cal Poly Pomona launched Renaissance Scholars in an effort to support the academic and personal aspirations of young people from the foster care system. This comprehensive access and retention program assists eligible foster youth in applying to Cal Poly Pomona and provides services to support their persistence to graduation once they enroll at the university. While national statistics continue to paint a very grim picture of foster youths' educational performance, students in Renaissance Scholars are succeeding despite ongoing life challenges. Members of the campus community who work directly and indirectly with the students have commented on their resilience to succeed despite the obstacles they face day-to-day.
