Let's Talk About It
A Conversation About Mental Health
Date: Wednesday, February 5th 2014
Time: 4:30pm - 6:00pm
Location: Bronco Student Center (35) Andromeda Suite
Thank you for your interest in our very first community conversation on mental health.
Before we get to the question of what we can do, it is important to understand the issues and how they affect us. We all have personal experiences that inform and motivate our actions. It is important to share more about those experiences and discuss why we care about mental health issues. In doing this we can relate to each other better and develop a common understanding that is foundational to creating community solutions.
Please join Active Minds and Student Health and Counseling Services for “Let’s Talk About It: A Conversation about Mental Health” on February 5th 2014 in Andromeda of the Bronco Student Center. This community discussion is open to students, staff, faculty and alumni. Parents and family members of students are welcome to attend as well.
During this conversation, we hope to answer pertinent questions such as:
- What experiences in your life, your work, or your family inform what you believe about mental health?
- In your experience, how are mental health issues affecting young people and the schools?
- If you are a young person, how do mental health issues affect you and your peers?
Doors open at 4:30pm, discussion from 5:00 to 6:00pm. Light refreshments will be served.Your participation in this discussion will help us inform the public, improve services for our community, and reduce the stigma associated with mental health challenges.
