Kellogg Honors College Freshman Application

Welcome to the Kellogg Honors College freshman application. Applicants must apply to Cal Poly Pomona as first-time freshmen by December 4, 2020 to be eligible for the Kellogg Honors College. This application is electronic and requires applicants to log-in using their BroncoName and BroncoPassword. These credentials are created upon submission of a Cal Poly Pomona application. The application requires submission of essay question responses, cover letter, and resume. Test scores and GPA information will be downloaded from applicants' Cal Poly Pomona application. What are the minimum requirements for freshmen applicants?

  • The Kellogg Honors College considers several factors in its admission process. It does not have a minimum GPA requirement to apply, but a 3.30 (B+ average) GPA is required to maintain good standing once students are admitted. We are looking for strong applicants who are motivated to succeed. The Kellogg Honors College does not have a minimum SAT/ACT score requirement, but applicants should meet the reading, writing, and math requirements set by their academic major.

What are the application essay questions?

  • Applicants must submit a 600 word maximum response for each of the following questions:

What is my username and password to access the application?

  • The username (BroncoName) is your Cal Poly Pomona email address without the @cpp.edu. For example: if your email is billybronco@cpp.edu, your username is billybronco.
  • The password is the same credential used for BroncoDirect. Please call the Cal Poly Pomona HelpDesk at 909-869-6776 or visit their website for assistance. The Kellogg Honors College does not have access to help create or retreive forgotten passwords

Are scholarships available?

  • The top 15% of applicants will be considered for scholarships based on merit and need. A separate scholarship application is not necessary. The FAFSA (or equivelent) must be submitted to be considered. Visit the Cal Poly Pomona Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships webpage to fill out the appropriate financial aid application.

Will admission to the Kellogg Honors College increase my chances of admission to Cal Poly Pomona?

  • The admissions processes for Cal Poly Pomona and the Kellogg Honors College are separate. Admission to the Kellogg Honors College does not increase students' admission chances to Cal Poly Pomona.

Can I apply if I am a current Cal Poly Pomona freshmen student?

  • Current Cal Poly Pomona students in their first year as first-time freshmen can apply to the Kellogg Honors College through the sophomore application.
