The demand for on-campus housing at Cal Poly Pomona is rising. For the past two years, the university’s housing services has had wait lists of nearly 800 students. Residence halls built to house two students per room now accommodate three.
In addition, the traditional residence halls were built in the 1960s and sit on an earthquake fault, which prohibits new construction on the site.
The selection of a site in summer 2015 will enable the university to reach its goal of opening the new housing units in fall 2019.
