The College of Environmental Design China Studio is an interdisciplinary studio that encourages students of Urban and Regional Planning, Architecture, and Landscape Architecture to learn about the collaborative work of these professions creating the human-made environment. The studio, taking place primarily in Beijing,China, exposes students to non-western cultural, professional, and academic traditions. It encourages students to become socially responsible professionals as they work on real design projects addressing urban world problems.

Eligibility

Junior standing or above at time of program start date

A minimum cumulative CPP GPA of 2.5

Housing

Students will be living on campus at North China University of Technology (NCUT)

Urban and Regional Planning, Architecture, and Landscape Architecture Majors

Program Cost

The program cost is TBD and includes the following:

  • Housing
  • Airport Transfer
  • Tuition
  • Group Airfare

Students pay a non-refundable application fee and regular Cal Poly Pomona tuition for Summer Semester.

Additional costs:

  • Food
  • Personal spending money

Students are responsible for obtaining a passport and visa.

Students may view the application process for summer programs and download the following required forms to submit in with their application.

  1. Copy of signed passport
  2. One passport photo attached to their application
  3. Independent Return Travel Form
  4. Illegal Drug Use Policy Form
  5. Conduct of Behavior Form
  6. Trip Release Form
  7. Release of Liability Form
  8. Health Status Report Form – (follow instructions)

You will need to have your application signed by your academic advisor. Please obtain a deposit slip from Laura Lee at the International Center (1-104). Students must turn in a $500 non-refundable deposit along with their application. You will submit your deposit to the Cashiers' Office at CLA. After making your payment, you must submit your signed deposit slip to the International Center to be dated and signed as proof of payment.
