Pugs

The Pug is a breed of dog with a wrinkly, short-muzzled face and curled tail. The breed has a fine, glossy coat that comes in a variety of colours, most often fawn or black, and a compact square body with well-developed muscles. Pugs were brought from China to Europe in the sixteenth century. Pugs remain popular into the twenty-first century, with some famous celebrity owners.

Pug Rescue

Pugs

Every day at Pug Nation Rescue LA, we work to rescue abandoned, neglected, unwanted, displaced, and abused pugs, and give them a second chance. Our goal is to provide every Pug a loving and caring forever home. If we cannot do that, we pledge to provide a comfortable and loving place for sick or unwanted pugs to live out their lives. We are all volunteers who donate our time to make a difference in the pug world. You too can help us in our mission: donate or adopt and save a pug in need today.

Pug

Back

The Pug is well described by the phrase "multum in parvo" which means "a lot of dog in a small space." They are recognized for their even-tempers, playful personalities, and their outgoing, loving dispositions. This square and cobby breed comes in fawn, silver fawn, apricot fawn or black, with a well-defined "mask" on his muzzle. The pug is a popular companion dog and good with children.

Chug

Back

The Chug is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Chihuahua and the Pug. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.
