Electrostatics Laboratory at CPP

Our group utilizes electrostatics for applications in chemical and materials engineering. Our group investigates the poorly understood phenomenon of triboelectric charging, which often plagues industrial processes and is commonly observed in nature. In addition, our group examines techniques to scale-up the electrospinning process for high throughput manufacturing of nanofiber materials. Electrospun materials are employed in a broad range of applications, including textiles, filtration, tissue engineering, drug delivery systems, pharmaceuticals, nanocomposites, and alternative-energy generation systems such as solar cells, fuel cells, and energy storage devices.
