Ribbons of Truth: Kick Off Event

Time: 9:00 am - 11:00 am                   Location: Meet at Career Center Lobby
Join us as we decorate our campus with Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Ribbons and facts/quotes regarding student hunger and homelessness.

Stock the Poly Pantry: Park and Give

Time: 7:00 am -4:00 PM                   Location: Parking Structures 1 and 2
Help us collect food and supplies for the Poly Pantry. Donation stops will be available in parking structures 1 and 2 for a convenient “park and give” opportunity. For a list of items that we are looking for please visit our website.

Basic Needs and Beyond Resource Fair

Time: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm                 Location: University Park
Get more information about resources to support your basic needs both on and off-campus. From getting your finances together, getting enrolled in healthcare to getting signed up for CalFresh. In attendance: LA County DPSS (CalFresh, Medi-cal, CalWORKs), WIC, 211 services, Tri-City Mental Health and Wellness Services, Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships, Children's Center, Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), Student Health and Wellness Services, Campus Cal Poly Federal Credit Union and more!

Learn about CSU and campus efforts to address food and housing insecurity and hear from CPP students how they have navigated student hunger and homelessness through a moderated panel. Dinner provided.

Cultivating Community: Parenting Students and Basic Needs

Time: 11:30 am -1:00 PM                   Location: BSC Lyra
Join us for lunch to discuss the parenting student experience when it comes to meeting basic needs. We will be joined by Dr. Analena Hope Hassberg from the Paul Robeson Community Wellness Center in South Los Angeles to hear best practices on cultivating a community of care. Lunch Provided. RSVP required.

Happening All Week

Feed a Bronco: Swipe Out Hunger Campaign

Students with a meal plan will be able to donate a meal that will go to another student in need through the Broncos Care Meal Sharing Program. Donation signups will be shared with residential students on campus.

Stock the Poly Pantry

SSB Building 121-E First Floor Lobby, ASI C&E Desk, Pride Center, Career Center and Student Health Center

Donate toiletries, non-perishable food, and nutritious snacks at any of the locations during business hours. For a list of items that we are looking for please visit our website.

Hunger and Homelessness Exhibit

BSC Bronco Exhibit Gallery - A weeklong art exhibit presented by ASI BEAT showcasing data from the CSU Basic Needs Study.

4 Ways to Support Hunger and Homelessness Week:

  1. Volunteer to thank donors at the “Park and Give” Stock the Pantry Donation Drop Off
  2. Donate to our Basic Needs Campaign
  3. Help us tie ribbons across campus for Ribbons of Truth
