Vagina Monologues Cast, 2011 Production
V-Day at Cal Poly Pomona
Our V-Day program begins in the Fall quarter with auditions and a cast mixer. Auditions are open to all femal-identified CPP students, staff and faculty as well as community members. No previous acting experience is necessary and everyone who attends auditions will receive a part in the production. Men are invited to participate in V-Day productions as support (such as selling tickets, helping with staging etc.).
In January, the cast attends a one-day retreat (usually a Saturday) to build sisterhood, self-esteem and empowerment. The retreat includes a powerful keynote speaker and ends with an art project that will be displayed during the productions. Past art projects have included a "Vagina Quilt", clay vaaginas and creating "Me" dolls. The goal of the retreat is to connect the cast to their role in the production.
For more information about Cal Poly's production of the Vagina Monologues please attend our meetings or continue to check back to our page. We usually start advertising for auditions the first two weeks of the Fall quarter.
