Who will be automatically switched to semester curriculum?

• Automatic switch will apply ONLY to 2017 Freshman in these majors:
  • Biotechnology
  • Environmental Biology
• All other majors and years will have the option to switch. Please follow the advice below to make your decision.

Should I stay on quarters or switch to semesters?

Stay on quarter curriculum IF:

• You plan on graduating by Spring 2019, Fall 2019, Spring 2020, or Fall 2020.
• You have completed BIO 211/L
• You have taken core courses towards your Option
• You have approved petitions
• You want to keep the Option in your diploma

Switching to semesters IF:

• You plan on graduating after 2021
• You have not started courses beyond the BIO series
• You do not have approved petitions

Warning! IF you switch,

• You will have to re-do ALL your petitions
• DPR will be ‘red’ & may take months to fix
