Sara Margala

Sara Margala is a 4th year physics major who has been working in Dr. Abramzon’s lab since Spring 2017. Her current work involves investigating the surface modification effects that atmospheric pressure plasma (cold plasma) has on stainless steel. She also works in collaboration with the Material Science department investigating corrosion resistance applications of cold plasma. Sara is also one of the founders and the current

president of the Women in Physics Club at CPP and was on the local organizing committee for the 2018 Conference for Undergraduate Women in Physics ( CUWiP) co-hosted at Cal Poly . Over the past summer, she interned for University of Missouri’s bioengineering materials research program working on characterizing and synthesizing mesoporous silica thin films.”
