Admission Requirements for Veterans

The California State University system and specifically Cal Poly Pomona give veterans and military service members the highest consideration for admission and enrollment in recognition of their service in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Admission requirements

Admission requirements and deadlines are based on whether you are applying as a first-time freshman, undergraduate transfer, graduate or credential student. Go to Admissions and review the material applicable to your level of study.

Recognizing that veterans may not be able to meet the standard admission application filing deadlines and/or mandatory orientation requirements due to service or travel limitations, Cal Poly Pomona offers veterans additional flexibility throughout the admissions, orientation and registration processes if needed. Admission applications from veterans are given priority consideration and are reviewed on a case-by-case basis since every veteran’s academic and military experience may be different.

If you have difficulty completing the admission process within the admission application period, contact the Veterans Resource Center at (909) 869-6994 to discuss possible alternatives.

Pre-admission advising

We recommend that you set up a pre-advising appointment with an outreach counselor early in the admission process to help facilitate your admission and enrollment at Cal Poly Pomona.  To schedule an appointment visit the Office of Outreach, Recruitment, & Educational Partnerships' pre-admission advising web page.

California State University, Pomona prohibits any fraudulent, aggressive and/or high pressure recruitment practices directed specifically toward military students.
