Give to the Veterans Resource Center

Support the Veteran’s Resource Center

Our Veterans Services Initiative was established in 2009 to honor the university’s commitment to the academic and personal success of our student veterans and their dependents.  This initiative is representative of the campus community’s respect for and dedication to serving our military veterans by helping them achieve success in higher education.  Through the University’s Veterans Resource Center, veterans receive priority consideration for admissions and course registration, access to veteran resource advisors, peer and community support, counseling and guidance in navigating policies and processes, and   other services that meet the unique needs of veterans.   In these challenging economic times, every dollar of support from each donor contributes to Cal Poly Pomona’s dedication to serving our military veterans by ensuring that these specialized programs and services are available.

Thank you to our Donors

We are grateful for the generosity of our donors and community partners, whose continued financial support is critical in helping our student veterans achieve success in higher education through specialized programs and services.

A special thank you to the Alcoa Foundation, Tri-City Mental Health Center, Wal-Mart Foundation and W.K. Kellogg Foundation for your support.

Ways to Give

You may choose from a number of options to support Cal Poly Pomona’s student veterans.  These include:

Gifts of cash and securities, such as stock shares, bonds and real property can be applied to scholarships or programs and services at the Veteran Resource Center.  Commitments may be completed over a period of up to five years. You may pledge an amount to the gift opportunity of your choice and arrange to pay in installments.

Planned or deferred gifts allow the center to prepare for the future and provide donors an opportunity to make a significant commitment to ensure the future of academic excellence for student veterans.  You may make a provision for the Veterans Resource Center in your estate plans, assuring a legacy that lasts beyond your lifetime.

Tribute and Memorial gifts allow individuals to honor and remember an individual while contributing to the success of our veterans.

Matching Gifts allow you to multiply the effects of your generosity by taking advantage of a corporate matching gift program. These programs allow you, as an employee, to direct your organization’s philanthropy to benefit the center. You may also qualify under the matching gift program of a company from which you retired, at which your spouse works (or retired), or whose board of trustees you serve. If you discover that you can procure additional funds for the center through a matching gift, please complete the appropriate forms and send them along with your gift. Visit the Cal Poly Pomona's matching gift site or contact the company or organization directly to see if a matching gift program might be in place.

Cal Poly Pomona’s gift planning professionals can work with you to discuss how the Veterans Resource Center can be included in your financial and estate plans to support the campaign, provide substantial tax benefits and maximize charitable giving.  Gifts to the Center are tax deductible to the full extent of the Internal Revenue Code.
