2-Year California Promise Program

The California Promise Program enables a specific number of campuses of the California State University, including Cal Poly Pomona, to establish programs for students who are pursuing an Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) from any California Community College and plan to complete their bachelor's degrees in two years at a CSU campus. This legislatively-mandated program is limited to students who are California residents.

2-Year Program Eligibility

To be eligible, you must:
  • Be a California Resident
  • Enter fall term with a completed Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT), Associate in Arts for Transfer (AA-T), or Associate in Science for Transfer (AS-T) in a major that is deemed similar at CPP. You can find the list of similar majors and options on the CSU website.
  • Your ADT must be completed in the Spring term prior to Fall admission term.

Steps to Apply

Monitor Your Email and BroncoDirect To Do List

If you are eligible for the California Promise, you will receive an invitation to apply. This will be your only chance during your time at Cal Poly Pomona to apply.

You will receive a confirmation email in your CPP inbox when we receive your application. If you're accepted, you'll receive a second email admitting you into the program.

If you're not eligible for the program or miss the application period, don't worry! You will still have access to your assigned academic advisor, and you can still graduate within two years by planning for 30 semester units per year. Visit the Take 30 website to learn more about the benefits.

Apply for the Program by the Deadline

The Fall 2024 deadline is Friday, August 16 by 11:59 p.m. PT

Complete Your Planner

Update your Planner with your first year courses at CPP (Fall 2024 and Spring 2025). We recommend you attend a Planner workshop this summer to learn how to use the tool.

Enroll in 15 Units For Fall 2024

You will register for classes at your mandatory Orientation program. You will also be able to adjust your schedule during your Orientation course registration window and Add/Drop Period.

Submit Final Transcript with ADT Awarded

Your AS-T or AA-T must be similiar to a CPP major. Your AS-T or AA-T must be awarded in the spring prior to the fall admit term.

Please note that your acceptance is conditional until we confirm your ADT status. If your self-reported ADT is not verified by the Office of Admissions, you will not be eligible to continue in the program in the second year. We will send you more communication about this process.
