Don Coduto, a 26-year member of the engineering faculty and chair of the civil engineering department, will serve as the interim dean of the College of Engineering effective July 1, Provost Marten denBoer announced.
"Professor Coduto and the entire department faculty have elevated the program into the largest undergraduate civil engineering program in the nation," denBoer says. "Don enjoys exceptional relationships with faculty, staff and administrators across campus, which will provide for a productive transition."
The university has begun a national search for the dean position. Associate Dean Cordelia Ontiveros will continue to serve in her current role.
Last week, Ed Hohmann has announced his intent to retire as dean of the College of Engineering at the end of June. During Hohmann's 27 years at the helm, the college has consistently been ranked among the top 15 undergraduate programs in the nation, according to US News and World Report.
