As the central communications office of the university, Strategic Communications builds relationships with Cal Poly Pomona’s audiences through a number of efforts.

Branding & Logos

Strategic Communications manages the university's brand and visual identity, including the Cal Poly Pomona logo, logotype and photographic services.

Media Relations

In our media relations efforts, our staff coordinate interviews with experts on a range of topics, serve as university spokespeople, and help track information.

Media relations functions include building relationships with media representatives, developing and targeting distribution of news releases, responding to inquiries from reporters, and identifying expert sources among faculty and staff. We also provide the university community informal media training. 

Social Media

Strategic Communications manages the university's official social media accounts, which help create a sense of community as well as encourage dialogue.

With the goal of creating a sense of community, engaging readers, and encouraging dialogue, Strategic Communications manages the university’s official social media accounts on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google+ and Twitter. We partner with MediaVision in managing the university YouTube channel. Alumni Affairs hosts the Alumni Association’s LinkedIn group. Upon request, we can provide social media consultation.
