Dave Harmer, head carpenter in Facilities, Planning & Management, died Dec. 7. He was 60 years old.

Harmer came to Cal Poly Pomona in 1989. He was instrumental during the past five years with the implementation of the smart classroom project.

Harmer proudly served in the Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. He lived most of his life in Pomona and enjoyed spending time in the mountains at Lake Arrowhead. He was also an avid art collector.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, Dec. 20 at 1:30 p.m. at Pomona Valley Memorial Park, 502 E. Franklin Ave, Pomona.
