President Ortiz talks about the Graduation Initiative and its Enriching Courses Project in his weekly video message.
The initiative, which received a Kellogg Legacy Endowment Grant, aims to enhance high-enrollment courses, particularly bottleneck courses, in which a significant percentage of students are not meeting the expected learning outcomes. The president also invites the campus community to attend the fall quarter Pizza with the Presidents on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at noon in the University Quad. Students can eat free pizza and ask questions of Ortiz and ASI President Johnathan Jianu.
Other noted events include: The Agricultural Research Initiative's annual showcase on Nov. 3, will highlight research projects by scholars and students in the CSU. Former NASA astronaut Barbara Morgan will talk about spaceflight and share her personal story on Oct. 28. The Ahimsa Center hosts internationally acclaimed author and physicist Vandana Shiva on Oct. 31. Social media expert Beverly Macy will come to campus Nov. 3 as part of the Executive Speaker Series. The Charles Lindsley Memorial Vocal Scholarship Fundraiser will be held Oct. 28 in the Music Recital Hall.
