University to Host Forum on Semester Conversion

The university is hosting a forum for students on semester conversion Wednesday, May 6.

Cal Poly Pomona will host the final forum of the year for students on semester conversion.

The event will be held on Wednesday, May 6 from noon to 1 p.m. in Ursa Major.

The university plans to convert to the semester calendar in Fall 2018. The forum will give students the opportunity to learn more about the process and how the change might affect them.

The event will begin with a 20-minute presentation by Semester Conversion Director Francelina Neto, followed by a Q&A session. Other representatives from the Semester Conversion project will attend, including ASI student representative Chonlawan Khaothiemsang.

Topics include:

  • Status of semester conversion planning
  • How conversion affects students graduating before Fall 2018
  • How conversion affects students graduating after 2018
  • Plans for student advising and support
