Cal Poly Pomona has selected Joe Simoneschi as the associate vice president to lead Finance and Administrative Services. Simoneschi, an executive director at Pasadena City College, will begin his appointment on October 23.

"I deeply believe the commitment we make to work in a public system, whether its education, government, or a non-profit, is a calling, and committing to public service allows us to help others and have a broader impact on our collective future" he said.

Simoneschi will assist in the university budget and accounting services, student accounting, procurement and support services. He brings with him a wealth of experience in financial services, purchasing, and other administrative support services from the county of Los Angeles and Pasadena City College.

He said he was drawn to Cal Poly Pomona because of the university's role in guiding and supporting students in reaching their goals in the state's higher education system. In addition, he noted the university's strong faculty and staff, diversity, and the role the associate vice president has collaborating with the campus community.

Simoneschi holds a bachelor's degree in business management and a master's degree in organizational leadership.
