With more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit and university settings, Frances Teves is leading Cal Poly Pomona's governmental and community relations effort. As director, Teves joins the senior leadership team in the Division of University Advancement.
Teves comes from Cal State Fullerton, where she served as the chief of operations for university advancement and managed the Cal State Fullerton Philanthropic Foundation Board of Governors. Prior to this role, she served as Fullerton's director of state relations and advocacy, coordinating statewide legislative activities, developing and implementing a strategic advocacy program, and advancing the federal legislative agenda. In addition, she oversaw the university's voter mobilization and Constitution Day efforts.
"Frances has a proven track-record of excellence and is adept at working with diverse constituency groups and building strong partnerships," said Daniel Montplaisir, vice president for university advancement. "Her ability to think strategically and adapt to an ever-changing political and legislative landscape will allow her to excel at Cal Poly Pomona."
Teves holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Cal State Fullerton and a master's degree in public policy from USC.
She is the recipient of the 2012 Edwin Crawford Award for Innovation, one of two such awards presented annually by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.
