CPP's Global Campus Welcomes Czech Higher Education Delegation, Fosters Partnerships

Cal Poly Pomona’s Global Campus welcomed a 13-person delegation from the Czech Republic, led by the Czech National Agency for International Education and Research.

Delegation listens to CPP presentation about Global Campus.The May 22 visit aimed to explore academic partnerships and research collaboration between CPP and Czech universities, emphasizing the importance of internationalization in higher education.

Representatives from five top Czech institutions participated in the dialogue:

The event took place at Cal Poly Pomona’s International Center and started with a welcoming remark by Lisa Xue, assistant vice president for Global Campus and senior international officer. After each attendee introduced themselves, Xue greeted the guests on behalf of President Soraya M. Coley and university administration, and shared the excitement to connect, share ideas and explore future collaborations with Czech universities.

“Internationalization is a key priority for us. We welcome students and scholars from all over the world and actively pursue partnership that promote student mobility, faculty exchanges, joint research, and cross-cultural understanding,” she said. “We see this visit as a valuable opportunity to deepen our connections with institutions in Czech Republic.”

The Czech delegation followed with a presentation on the Czech higher education system, offering insights into their academic structures and global outreach efforts. Delegates from each university also shared their unique strengths and institutional goals, highlighting opportunities for student and faculty exchanges, joint research and collaborative programs.

She spoke warmly about her experiences, sharing how CPP’s supportive community and academic environment helped her grow both personally and professionally.

“Cal Poly Pomona helps me not only as a student getting a degree, but also in learning about other cultures and being open to experiences that I would not know before,“ she said.

The day concluded with a discussion session focused on potential collaboration, followed by an exchange of gifts, a group photo and a campus tour. This visit marked a significant step toward deepening international ties and exemplified Cal Poly Pomona’s dedication to preparing students for a globally connected world.
