The Division of Student Affairs invites students, alumni and their families to attend the third annual Green & Gold Block Party at Bronco Commons followed by a CPP men’s and women’s basketball doubleheader at Kellogg Arena.

CPP Cheer team performs during the 2025 Green and Gold block party.Attendees are encouraged to enjoy this free event Saturday, Jan. 31, filled with food, carnival games, rides, performances and raffle opportunities from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., then stay for the women’s basketball game at 1 p.m. and the men’s game at 3 p.m. Admittance is free for both games.

From face painting and poster-making for the basketball doubleheader, to a train ride and tacos and churros, the Green & Gold Block Party has plenty to offer for students and their families.

“I feel like there’s something for everyone at this event,” said Monica Gonzalez, senior coordinator of parent & family engagement, “especially if a student wants to bring their family or just hang out with their friends.”

Over 800 students and supporters attended the block party last year, which is a collaboration with the Office of New Students Programs & Family Engagement, Bronco Athletics, PolyTransfer, Associated Students Inc. Campus Recreation and UHS Programming Team.

“One of our goals is to ensure that the families and supporters of our Bronco students feel just as welcomed as our students and that they have that sense of belonging as well,” Gonzalez said.

The Division of Student Affairs is also responsible for new student orientation, with over 1,500 students and supporters in attendance at this spring’s orientation.

“The amount of student activities and events that take place here is so unique,” Gonzalez said. “Students here are so fortunate. You go on MyBar and there is something every day.”

Students can RSVP for the Green & Gold Block Party and reserve tickets for themselves and their guests here. Visit MyBar for more information about the event.
