CSU Launches New Cookie Banner Across Campus Websites

As part of the CSU’s Data Privacy Program, Cal Poly Pomona’s website will implement a new cookie consent banner starting March 26.

This update reflects the CSU’s ongoing commitment to privacy, transparency and user choice. Cookie banners have become standard across higher education, government and private-sector websites, providing users with clear information and, when applicable, options for how their data is collected and used.

Users will see the cookie banner once every 12 months on a given device and browser, unless they clear their cookies or switch to a different browser. By clicking the “X” to close the banner, users will be opted in to all cookies.

Cookie settings, reject all and accept all cookies buttons.

Users can change their cookie preferences at any time by scrolling to the bottom of the university’s website and clicking the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer to opt in or opt out of nonessential cookies. On shared or public computers, such as labs or kiosks, users are encouraged to review and set their preferences each time to ensure their individual privacy choices are applied.

Opting in helps the CSU better understand how its websites are used, so navigation, accessibility and online services can be improved for the benefit of the entire CSU community.
