Thomas Sekayan Appointed CEO of Cal Poly Pomona Foundation
Thomas Sekayan has been named chief executive officer of Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises (CPPE), the university’s nonprofit auxiliary foundation.
CPPE has an annual operating budget of approximately $120 million and provides a range of essential services to the university, including Dining Services, the Bronco Bookstore, student housing, the Kellogg West Conference Center and Hotel, Innovation Village Research Park, as well as other services that support student success and campus experiences.
Sekayan, who has more than 18 years of experience in higher education auxiliary enterprises, joined CPPE as chief operating officer in 2022. He served as the Interim CEO from October 2025 until his appointment to the permanent role by the board in July.
During his tenure, Sekayan has played a pivotal role in advancing the organization's operations and strategic initiatives overseeing the Bronco Bookstore, Dining Services, the conference center and hotel, marketing, and sponsored Enterprise programs, helping strengthen collaboration across departments while enhancing services that support the campus community
A Certified Auxiliary Services Professional (CASP), he began his career in Student Affairs at the University of Southern California before transitioning in 2013 to business operations at CSUN. In 2020, he joined University Enterprises Corporation at Cal State San Bernardino as the business operation manager, overseeing auxiliary services for the campus.
Throughout his career, Sekayan has led major operational initiatives, including contract negotiations, request-for-proposal processes and third-party service partnerships, with a focus on operational excellence, innovation and continuous improvement. At CPP, one notable achievement under his leadership was the establishment of CPP Farms branded ice cream, capturing the attention of news media nationwide.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts from CSUN and his master’s degree in student personnel administration from the University of West Florida.
As CEO, Sekayan will continue leading CPPE's efforts to expand services, strengthen campus partnerships and advance initiatives that enrich the Bronco experience. The board stated it is confident that his leadership, vision and dedication will build upon the organization's momentum and position CPPE for continued success.
