In 2024, women are at the helm of 12 of the CSU’s 23 universities, including CPP President Soraya M. Coley, the first woman and first African American scholar to serve as president of Cal Poly Pomona. Mildred García, the CSU system’s first Latina chancellor, is also the nation’s first Latina to lead a four-year public university system.
