Prof. Carsten Lange on SCOTUS tariff ruling, Trump actions impact on OC businesses
Hours after the Supreme Court struck down most of President Donald Trump’s sweeping tariffs, the president announced a temporary 10 percent global tariff under the Trade Act of 1974, leaving Orange County businesses still facing higher prices and slower sales. Economics Professor Carsten Lange says price reductions are likely but cautioned that relief may be delayed and uneven.
"I think we will see for sure reductions. But we don't know when there might be a time delay. And we don't know by how much," he says, noting that tariffs could return in other forms following the ruling.
