Harmoni, a manufacturing technology startup, has raised $10 million to expand its platform for modernizing existing U.S. factories with connected tablets and AI software. Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering Professor Shokoufeh Mirzaei says many small and midsize manufacturers lack basic analytics and operate equipment that predates the internet: “We find the average factory is behind the automation curve and they use very old, legacy systems.”
