Judicial Internship Spring 2024

CLS 4410/4410A - Judicial Internship

(3 unit course)

Students spend Monday and Wednesday mornings visiting and observing court sessions at the LA Superior Courthouse in Pomona, and meeting with judges and lawyers involved in the various courts, including civil, family, criminal, juvenile etc. The program's supervising judges also schedule visits (also Monday and Wednesday mornings) to other places of interest, such as a sheriff's department and a law firm. Every other Friday morning, students meet with Dr. Elli Menounou to discuss the Internship's activities.

Qualifications:

  • Sophomore, Junior or Senior with an overall GPA of 3.0

Requirements:

  • Must commit to 8-10 hours per week
  • This is a 3-unit course (CLS 4410/4410A) and will meet on Monday and Wednesday morning, and every other Friday (9.00-10.30 am).
  • Obtain a letter of recommendation from a CPP Professor (faculty will be notified to upload their recommendation after you submit your application).
  • Interview with Internship Selection Committee.

Applications open mid-September and close mid-October.
