Caltrans Schedules Extended Weekend Closure of Southbound 57 Freeway Starting on Friday, Nov. 4

Summary of disruption: Caltrans has issued an extended weekend closure of the southbound 57 Freeway from the Brea Canyon Road off-ramp to the Orange County border (see map) starting at 10 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4. Drivers should expect delays and detours. All work is subject to change due to weather or construction-related issues. Closures may start and end later than scheduled.

In addition to the freeway closure, the southbound Diamond Bar Boulevard on-ramp and the Brea Canyon Road off-ramp will be shut down from Monday, Nov. 7, 2022 to Monday, Jan. 9, 2023.        

The freeway closure dates and times are:

Full closure of southbound 57 Freeway from Brea Canyon Road off-ramp to Orange County border

Friday, Nov. 4 from 10 p.m. to Saturday, Nov. 5 at 7 a.m.

Sunday, Nov. 6 from 9 p.m. to Monday, Nov. 7 at 5 a.m.

Up to three lanes open on southbound 57 Freeway from Brea Canyon Road off-ramp to the Orange County border

Saturday, Nov. 5 from 6 a.m. to Sunday, Nov. 6 at 10 p.m.

Reason for disruption: The closure is part of a pavement replacement project to remove and replace concrete slabs in both directions of the 57 Freeway that will enhance ride quality and maximize the service of the roadway. What do I need to do? Expect delays and follow detour signs. Slow down and proceed with caution when approaching the freeway closure. Allow extra time to get to destinations.
