Campus to Undergo Three-Day Power Shutdown Starting on Tuesday, Dec. 28

Summary of disruption: The campus will undergo a three-day electrical shutdown starting on Tuesday, Dec. 28. The outage will affect all campus buildings. Power is expected to be restored by Thursday, Dec. 30. The university is closed for winter break during the shutdown.

Reason for disruption: Allow the Electrical Infrastructure Upgrade (EIU) Project contractor to initiate tie-ins to the new campus electrical system.     

How does this affect me? Avoid being on campus during the power shutdown. University Drive starting from Collins Drive to Kellogg Drive will be closed. Traffic signals and lighting on campus will not be operational. Stop signs will be placed at traffic signal locations.

What do I need to do? Turn off your computer and other electronic equipment before leaving offices and workspaces on Wednesday, Dec. 22. Please share this information with others in the building who may have not received this message.
