Fire Alarm and Sprinkler Testing Scheduled in University Library, Engineering Laboratories on Wednesday, July 20

Summary of disruption: State-mandated annual fire alarm and sprinkler inspections and certification testing are scheduled in the University Library (Building 15) and the Engineering Laboratories (Building 17) starting at 5 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20. Audible alarm testing will be conducted from 5 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. and silent alarm tests will commence at 8 a.m. per building schedule (see below).  

Testing times and the affected buildings are:

University Library starting at 8 a.m.

Engineering Laboratories beginning at noon  

Reason for disruption: Comply with state laws and ensure that fire sprinklers, alarms and strobe lights are working properly.

How does this affect me? Audible alarm and strobe lights testing in the buildings is scheduled from 5 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. Elevators will not be in service during the audible tests. Afterward, silent testing of alarm equipment and sprinklers will be conducted with minimal impact to occupants.
