Innovation Incubator to Host 6th Annual PolyX Showcase

Students stand with their presentation during the 2022 PolyX Showcase.

The 6th Annual PolyX Showcase, hosted by Innovation Incubator, will serve as a platform for students to present their Signature Polytechnic Experiences and highlight their innovative contributions to their fields of study.

One of the primary objectives of the Nov. 16 showcase, which will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Ursa Major, is to bring together diverse perspectives and ideas. By featuring a wide array of projects from interdisciplinary research to community engagement initiatives, the event will underscore Innovation Incubator's mission to foster a culture of innovation.

Ericka Olguin, the senior innovator of the newly established Innovation Incubator shared her enthusiasm for the PolyX Showcase.

"We are thrilled to see the PolyX Showcase grow and evolve, now encompassing all PolyX courses," she said. "I'd like to invite the entire campus community to join us and witness the outstanding projects our students have undertaken in their PolyX courses."

The showcase embodies the essence of a Signature Polytechnic Experience (PolyX) by highlighting students' work through mentorship, collaborative learning, community and global engagement, critical thinking, problem-solving, diverse perspectives, creativity, discovery, and innovation. The event not only fosters a sense of belonging on campus but also aims to instill confidence in students for their journey through college and beyond.

Students are empowered to explore the intricacies of their chosen field, tackling both opportunities and challenges while devising innovative solutions. Through collaborative learning and dedicated mentoring, PolyX extends the learning experience beyond the classroom, equipping students with the skills they need for both their professional and civic lives. Students will present their research on poster boards enabling them to share their finding and engage in discussions with attendees.
