Broncos Give: The Season of Generosity Begins
The countdown is on and momentum is building as Broncos prepare to create extraordinary impact across campus.
The legacy of Cal Poly Pomona is built on giving—W.K. Kellogg gifted this land with a purpose to educate and transform lives—and this purpose continues through Broncos Give.
This year’s Broncos Give begins on March 18 at 9 a.m. and ends the following night, March 19 at 9 p.m. The 36-hour online giving window is a chance for the community to support programs, departments, scholarships, sports and student clubs they are passionate about.
CPP’s Become by Doing philosophy would just be words without donors. From funding conferences, competitions, department and program centers, these gifts help students in their academic pursuits and prepare them to step into their future careers with confidence and experience.
When Lucas LeVieux and fellow leaders in the American Planning Association club set out to attend the National Planning Conference, they knew cost would be the biggest barrier. Travel, registration and lodging quickly add up, especially for students balancing tuition and living expenses. Support from Broncos Give donors helped close that gap and made attendance possible for more than a dozen students.
“For many of our students, this is their first time in a professional space,” LeVieux said. “Your support removes a financial barrier at a critical early career moment. The return is measurable. Connections are made, confidence is built, and students are brought into their professional practice.”
Across campus, donor generosity is also shaping student success in the College of Business Administration through The Bloomberg Lab, home to the Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF). For Cristina Munoz, that hands-on learning access has been transformative and “helped us get our first-place win in the latest regional competition,” she shared. Beyond technical skills, the program builds confidence.
“I do think that we’ve all grown so much as a group and as individuals,” Munoz said. “We’re all more confident.”
Transformative experiences like these begin with the donations received during the 36 hours of Broncos Give. Here every gift becomes part of something larger. Timed dollar-for-dollar matches and participation challenges create moments of shared momentum, giving supporters the opportunity to amplify their impact and turn generosity into a visible celebration of connection, friendly competition and collective purpose across campus.
“The fact that people are continually willing to step up and donate really is heartwarming. I want donors to know that we see them. We see how special they are, and we are so appreciative of the fact that they are willing to donate and to make a commitment,” said Grace Johnson, the senior associate director for annual giving.
