CPP Launches Bronco Experience Questionnaire to Garner Insight for Positive Change
The Bronco Experience Questionnaire launched today, Oct. 12, and every Cal Poly Pomona student and faculty and staff member is encouraged to make their voice heard to positively impact change on campus.
“At CPP, we do not just want to talk about the community we want to be. We want to build it, measure our progress and keep getting better together,” per Jonathan Grady, senior associate vice president of community and belonging.
As a result, the Office of Community and Belonging, along with the Division of People and Culture, launched the inaugural Bronco Experience Questionnaire. All students, faculty and staff are encouraged to share their experience of belonging on campus and where it falls short. Broncos can find the link to the survey in an email from the Office of Community and Belonging sent today or on the questionnaire website.
The questionnaire is anonymous and should take about 10 minutes for students and about 15 for faculty and staff. Participants will have the option to enter a prize drawing afterwards for a chance to win an iPad, AirPods, Bronco swag and more.
“This work is not simply about producing another report. It’s about listening, acting, measuring our progress and being accountable for the difference we make in the lives of our students, faculty and staff,” Grady said in a campus-wide email last month.
Community members will have the opportunity to reflect on the factors that shape their experience at CPP, such as connection, belonging, support, relationships, resources and institutional practices. Student voices, for example, will help clarify what creates a sense of belonging, what barriers they’ve encountered and where CPP can do more to help them succeed and thrive.
The questionnaire will close on Friday, Oct. 30. In January, the feedback gathered will inform the creation of an institutional roadmap, which will include measurable actions and timelines. In the spring, priorities and plans, along with resources to put them into action, will be shared with faculty and staff throughout the divisions and colleges. Going forward, the questionnaire will be shared every other year in order to measure how the university is doing.
“This is an opportunity for every Bronco to help shape the CPP they want to experience,” Grady said. “Whether you have been part of the university for one semester or several years, your voice matters.”
