Abstract:

Not every student can keep working on the same topics after they graduate from school. In this talk, I show my own case with a brief introduction of the research conducted during my Ph. D, when I applied NLP techniques to cybersecurity for extracting semantic information from hacker conversations, and my current work on several projects at Design Pickles, where I mainly address churn prediction and image2text (image association with concepts that enables a host of business opportunities). The intention here is to discuss how students can maximize their learning as well as get prepared for interesting new challenges after graduation.
