There are less than 10 days until Cal Poly Pomona formally celebrates more than 6,900 graduates of the Class of 2024 at Commencement. To ensure smooth entry into the University Quad, the campus community and event attendees need to be aware of a few campus safety measures in place for all ceremonies, May 17-20.

Clear bags are required. They should be made of vinyl or plastic material, must not exceed 12” x 12” x 6” and should not have obscured interior pockets. Exceptions will be made only for:

All other backpacks, purses, camera bags, other bags and carriers must be returned to the vehicle or left at home. All bags are subject to search. All guests and graduates must go through bag check at the ticketing areas around the Commencement venue. Review the list of Prohibited Items on the campus safety section of the Commencement website. Prohibited items include: alcohol, artificial noisemakers, balloons, confetti cannons, tripods and large photographic equipment, wagons and carts, and weapons.

Tickets are required for all guests. All guests must show a valid ticket (QR code) at the ticketing area. Children under 2 years of age are not required to have a ticket and should sit on the lap of an adult.

Cal Poly Pomona is committed to fostering a campus environment that is safe, welcoming and respectful of all. All attendees are expected to comply with university policies, laws and directions from university officials. Those who do not comply may be asked to leave.
