Faculty Position Announcement: Part-Time/Temporary Lecturers
College of Letters, Arts, and Social Sciences
The English & Modern Languages Department at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona) invites lecturers to become members of our part-time temporary lecturers pool.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in field of specialization (or Master’s degree in related field and relevant teaching experience) required at time of application. Teaching responsibilities include classroom lecture/discussions, grading of frequent papers, individualized instruction and scheduled office hours.
Preferred/Desired Qualifications
Ph.D. in a relevant field preferred: Rhetoric and Composition, TESOL, Linguistics, English Education, French, German, Chinese (Mandarin), or Spanish.
Appointments
Part-time, temporary lecturer appointments are usually made for one academic quarter (approximately 11 weeks) at fractions usually ranging from 4/15 to 12/15 of full-time; multiple quarter appointments are possible. Incumbents may be reappointed to subsequent quarters contingent upon funding and favorable performance evaluations.

Placement into a range is based on qualifications and experience. The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated in the schedules above are prorated to the number of units worked and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester.
