Buildings to Undergo Temperature Reset Caused by Natural Gas Shortage

Summary of Disruption: A shortage in the supply of natural gas caused by severe cold weather in many parts of the country has forced the university to conserve energy by temporarily lowering the temperature in campus buildings to 68° Fahrenheit starting on Monday, Feb. 15. The severe winter weather is expected to last another seven days.

Reason for Disruption: Southern California Gas Co. has advised the university to conserve natural gas and prepare for a possible curtailment of natural gas.

How does this affect me? Building temperature set points have been reset to 68° Fahrenheit and unused heating boilers have been turned off. Building temperatures will be restored after clearance is given by Southern California Gas Co.

What do I need to do? Dress accordingly for the temporary temperature change in the work environment. Please share this information with others who may have not received this message.
