Seven Buildings to Undergo Fire Alarm and Sprinkler Testing on Friday, July 21

Summary of disruption: State-mandated annual fire alarm and sprinkler inspections and certification testing are scheduled in seven buildings on Friday, July 21. Audible alarm testing will be conducted from 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m., with silent alarm tests commencing after 8 a.m. Inspections and testing are expected to be completed in the afternoon.  

 

Testing times and the affected buildings are:

Darlene May Gymnasium (Building 41) starting at 7 a.m.

Kellogg Arena (Building 43) beginning at 9 a.m.

Agricultural Engineering (Building 45) starting at 11 a.m.   

The Collins College of Hospitality Management (Buildings 79, 79A, 79B and 80) starting at 1 p.m.  

 

Reason for disruption: Comply with state laws and ensure that fire sprinklers, alarms and strobe lights are working properly.

How does this affect me? Audible alarm testing in the buildings is scheduled from 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. Afterward, silent testing of alarms and strobe lights will be conducted. Elevators will not be in service during the tests.

What do I need to do? During audible testing, loud alarms will blare and strobe lights will be activated. Avoid being in the building during audible alarm testing.
