Six Buildings to Undergo Fire Safety Alarm Testing Starting at 5:30 a.m. on Monday, March 2
Summary of disruptions: State-mandated testing of the fire safety systems at six buildings will begin at 5:30 a.m. on Monday, March 2. Testing is scheduled to be completed by approximately 2 p.m. Audible fire alarm testing and strobe light activation are scheduled from 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. Testing of the alarm system in silent mode will occur after 8 a.m.
The affected buildings are:
Art Department and Engineering Annex (Building 13)
Army ROTC (Buildings 13B and 13C)
Pre-College TRIO Programs (Building 13D)
Water Treatment Plant (Building 27)
Facilities Training Center (Building 49)
Reason for disruption: Comply with state laws to ensure that fire safety systems are working properly.
How does this affect me? Audible fire alarms and strobe lights will be activated between 5:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. HVAC systems may undergo temporary shutdowns.
What do I need to do? If audible fire alarms are heard and strobe lights are activated after 8 a.m., evacuate the building. Please share this information with others in the buildings who may have not received this message.
