Fire Safety Alarm Testing at Eight Buildings Scheduled to Begin at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3
Summary of disruptions: State-mandated testing of the fire safety systems at eight buildings will begin at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3. Testing is scheduled to be completed by approximately 2 p.m. Audible fire alarm testing and strobe light activation are scheduled from 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. Testing of the alarm system in silent mode will occur after 8 a.m.
The affected buildings are:
Music Building (Building 24)
Temporary classrooms (Building 24A, Building 24B, Building 24C, Building 24D, and Building 24E)
Meat Laboratory (Building 34)
Animal Health Science (Building 67)
Reason for disruption: Comply with state laws to ensure that fire safety systems are working properly.
How does this affect me? Audible fire alarms and strobe lights will be activated between 5:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. HVAC systems may undergo temporary shutdowns.
What do I need to do? If audible fire alarms are heard and strobe lights are activated after 8 a.m., evacuate the building. Please share this information with others in the buildings who may have not received this message.
