Gas Line Repair Project in Nine Buildings to Start on Tuesday, Sept.1

Summary of disruption: Gas lines in nine buildings will undergo repairs starting on Tuesday, Sept. 1. The work is scheduled in two phases and will occur weekdays from 6 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Repairs are expected to be completed on Friday, Sept. 11. The gas supply to buildings will be interrupted for approximately three hours during repair work.

Phase 1: Repairs will be performed from Tuesday, Sept. 1 to Friday, Sept. 4 in Building 4A (BioTrek Learning Center), Building 8 (College of Science), Building 26 (University Plaza), Building 34 (Meat Lab), Building 37 (Swine Unit) and Building 92 (Laboratory Facility).

Phase 2: Gas lines will be repaired from Tuesday, Sept. 8 to Friday, Sept. 11 in Building 16, Building 24 (Music) and Building 79 (The Collins College of Hospitality Management).

Reason for disruption: Allow contractor crews to make repairs on gas supply lines throughout the campus.

How does this affect me? Gas to water heaters will be shut off and water temperatures may drop slightly. Appliances in labs that use gas will not have access to the gas supply. The average outage time per building is about three hours.

What do I need to do? Avoid being in the buildings during repair work. Please share this information with others who may have not received this message.
