Four Residence Halls, Housing Facilities Office to Undergo Power Shutdowns Starting at 6 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7

Summary of disruption: Electrical service to Encinitas Hall (Building 20), Montecito Hall (Building 21), Alamitos Hall (Building 22), Aliso Hall (Building 23) and the Housing Facilities Office (Building 71) will be switched off beginning at 6 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7. Power is expected to be restored by 10 a.m.

Reason for disruption: Allow contractor crews to enter the electrical vault and determine which power line needs to be removed for the continued demolition of the gray dorms along University Drive.

How does this affect me? Fire alarms will be active using battery backup power. The HVAC system will not be operational.  

What do I need to do? Avoid being in the buildings during the power shutdown. Please share this information with others in the building who may have not received this message.
