University Quad to Close on Saturday, May 6 and Saturday, May 13 for Tree Trimming

Summary of disruption: The University Quad will be closed on Saturday, May 6 from approximately 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, May 13 from about 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. to allow for the preparation of the site for upcoming Commencement ceremonies. The Quad is bordered by the College of Science (Building 8), The College of Letters, Arts & Social Sciences (Building 5), Campus Center (Building 97), the College of Education & Integrative Studies (Building 6) and the University Office Building (Building 94).

Reason for disruption: Allow contractor crews to trim trees in The Quad and ensure the safety of Commencement attendees. Other trees along pathways leading to Commencement site also will be trimmed.

How does this affect me? Pedestrians are urged to use detours around The Quad during the work. Access to buildings will not be disrupted.

What do I need to do? Proceed with caution approaching the work area. Please share this information with others who may have not received this message.
