Timeline for Trenching Work Near Japanese Garden and CLA Tower Extended

Update on Disruption: The Electrical Infrastructure Upgrade project timeline for trenching of a section of sidewalk near the Aratani Japanese Garden and the CLA Tower has been extended. The trenching and restoration of the sidewalk are now expected to be completed on Friday, Oct. 23. The work will be performed weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The sidewalk near the work site is closed to pedestrians until Saturday, Oct. 24.

Reason for Disruption: Allow contractor crews to start trenching and installing duct banks in the initial phase of the Electrical Infrastructure Upgrade Project that is underway.

How does this affect me? Construction signs will be posted to alert pedestrians of a detour around the work site. Work areas will be fenced off. Only emergency vehicles are permitted to go through the work site. Access to the CLA Tower and the Japanese Garden will not be impacted.

What do I need to do? Use pedestrian detours around the work site and proceed with the utmost caution when approaching the trenching area. Please share this information with others who may have not received this message.
