Abstract:

The legal world has a lot of challenges to carry out. Some of them are based on how to manipulate text data and extract relevant information to support a best decision process. The text processing is generally a
very time-consuming task. Thus, the organizations spend many work hours doing bureaucracy tasks - affecting efficiencies of them. Therefore, the Center for Excellence in Artificial Intelligence (CEIA-UFG) has some industry projects that minimize manual work and improve the efficiency of legal organizations. E.g., a project to speed up the inspection of city hall purchase notices; a project to automatically classify the type of judicial process to facilitate forwarding; and a project to simplify legal language and thus provide more access and understanding to citizens. Thus, in this seminar I will talk more about those projects and how AI can deliver value to legal scenarios.
