Radiation Safety Committee

About the Committee

The Radiation Safety Committee has delegated authority from the California Department of Public Health, Radiologic Health Branch (RHB) to act on behalf of the State in the approval of Radioactive Use Authorizations (RUA's) and general administration of the radiation safety program under the authority of the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO).

The committee is comprised of multiple subject matter experts in the areas of physics, chemistry, biology, biotechnology, public health, and animal veterinary sciences. 

Approval to use radioactive materials:

Prospective RUA's must submit an RUA request through the Radiation Safety Portal.

• Authorized User Training (as needed)
